Want to Learn a Secret?
“Capturing” is the fastest, easiest way to get behaviors from your dog. Using the concept of “Capturing”, you can quickly name any finished behavior your dog does naturally. Even cute ones like a chin rest or catch your tail that will be helpful as a service dog!
Capturing is a great way to have quick success in your learning process as well as build foundation and default behaviors. These can also be used to build confidence as well as be used as unique reinforcers for other behaviors.
Improve your observation skills and timing of the marker. These are both skills critical to success with the more complicated behaviors you will need to teach your service dog later on. Learn how to zero in on getting more of the behaviors you want without having to punish the ones you don’t want!
Here is a list of the behaviors that you will learn to teach in our “Capturing as a Concept” program.
